I've told you in the past how to get the most out of your keyboard and mouse,but what if your mouse doesn't work quite like you want? You might want it to move a bit faster, or the extra buttons don't do quite what you want.
In Windows you can go to Control Panel and under "Hardware and Sound" click "Mouse." This lets you tweak a few of the settings - including the cursor speed.
What if you want to do more?
If you have a Microsoft mouse or keyboard - and you're running Windows 8 - Microsoft has a special Mouse and Keyboard Center to help you make the most of your hardware.
You can customize how fast your mouse moves, scrolls up and down pages, and troubleshoot problems. The Mouse and Keyboard center will also update the drivers for your gadgets to make sure your mouse and keyboard are always up to date.
Note: Your hardware must be Microsoft brand for the program to detect it. If you are using a mouse or keyboard that is not Windows brand, the Mouse and Keyboard Center won't do anything.

To download the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center, navigate to the Microsoft download page with the link provided. There are two red text links for 32-bit and 64-bit systems.
To find out which version you need, go to the Start Menu>>Control Panel>>System and Security>>System. The System Type will tell you what kind of operating system you have.
Click the appropriate link for your operating system to start the download. When the download is complete, open and run the installation file.
Be sure to read the License Agreement before continuing. Remember, always read the fine print.
The installation will recommend that you sign up for dynamic content. This will allow the program to automatically check for updates to your hardware drivers. I recommend checking this box.
You will also be asked to sign up for the Customer Experience Improvement program, which will send information about your usage to Microsoft. You do not have to sign up for this service feature.
When the installation is finished, you can customize your Microsoft mouse and keyboard to perfectly fit your computer usage to give yourself the best computer experience.
